Known colloquially as branching grass flag (ht 40-60 cm) this is a rhizomatous perennial Australian rainforest plant, with arching, glossy, grass-like foliage and panicles of dainty, starry, white flowers on tall stems in spring and early summer. It enjoys a moist, part-shade position (though will also grow in sun). It forms a dense clump and can be used to form the effect of a low hedge. It can tolerate light frost. If the foliage gets ratty, it can be cut back hard - it will reshoot. It can be propagated by division or from seed.
