I have a border edged with the lower growing Alstroemerias. They look great when first in flower then seem to collapse into rather messy heaps. The fallen flowers form a dense layer over the soil. I have "twisted" out the finished flowers but no new ones seem to follow and the label suggests they will keep flowering through spring until mid summer. My clumps seem to disappear. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions welcomed! Evelyn

Alstroemerias can sometime be hard to get going, some of the smaller growing forms are not that drought tolerant and will die out.
