"Plant Supports"

Started by Penny - 2049 Saturday, 05 July 2014
Hi, Does anyone know where I can buy metal plant supports in Australia? I want something strong enough to support medium/large perennials. Plastic supports are generally too flimsy and bamboo poles & string difficult to maintain. My husband has said he will make some for me but that is still very much work in progress! Thanks Penny

Try Hardware stores like Bunnings or Masters. However, products made overseas that are cheap will not last and you will have to replace them. Alternatively, go to your local Library and borrow gardening magazines like "Your Garden" published by Pacific Magazines/Eveleigh/Sydney, or "Gardening Australia" magazine published by the ABC. At the back of these magazines are advertisements from Australian Companies who make all sorts of gardening products. You can also search online for metal fabricators in your area or look up the Yellow Pages. Good luck.
