Cutting back Salvias

Started by Bren - 2540 Tuesday, 23 July 2019

A number of my Salvias are looking straggly, and I would love to cut them back because i can see at the base of the plant, or on the lowermost part of the stems, lots of new shoots that will obviously form the new season"s growth. Is there any harm in cutting them back now in July, or should I wait until August or even September?
