"dying azalea"

Started by Janelle - 2541 Monday, 07 October 2019

my azalea that I have had for 15 years is dying in different sections. I have cut the bits that had died off gradually over the past year. And this is all I have left. Can I save it.

I think that one is past redemption. Have a careful look at it to see if you can see signs of insect infestation or nutrition problems. Refurbish the soil and plant something different there. If the foliage on the remaining piece looks healthy you could try taking cuttings. Azaleas like cool moist conditions in acid soil and usually part shade. Could lawn fertiliser be a problem in that position?
